Colour Description

"Oh honey you turn me on
I'm a radio
I'm a country station
I'm a little bit corny
I'm a wildwood flower
Waving for you..."

From "You Turn Me On, I'm a Radio', Joni Mitchell, 1972

I love this imagery in the song "You turn me on, I'm a Radio" written by Joni in 1972. there's a whimsical simplicity to this (actually rather complex) song and I adore that. Blue is a recurring theme in Joni's lyrical imagery and I wanted to reflect that in this collection of colourways based on her music. Here the blue is a light and bright, wild Forget-Me-Not blue.

Take a listen.

This colourway is part of the Goddess of Folk Collection, check out some of the visual inspiration here.

Small batch hand-dyed.

Yarn Description

This luxury, plush yarn is a blend of 50% fine Merino and 50% pure Mulberry Silk.  Colours really 'pop' on this base and naturally it is unbelievably soft and smooth.

212m per 100g

Small batch, hand-dyed yarn from my little studio in Lower Hutt, Aotearoa/New Zealand. Everything, from sourcing the yarn to shipping, is done with love and care by hand. The nature of hand-dyed yarn is that no two skeins are exactly the same, creating beautifully nuanced colourways.

I source finest quality, fully traceable and mulesing-free, ethically, sustainably farmed yarns from New Zealand and abroad.

The dyes I use are made in Australia and New Zealand.  They are non-toxic acid dyes that are used for dyeing protein-based fibre (such as wool and silk). I take every care to use only the quantities necessary to create my colourways. This means that the dyepot is fully exhausted when the dyeing is complete.
